In my current environment, I have SQL Server 2005 Ent. Edition with SP2 and planning to upgrade to higher Service Pack 3 or 4.
For this I want to know :
1.) What are the pre-requisites I need to take care?
2.) May I directly upgrade to SP4 or need to first upgrade to SP3 and then SP4 ?

Thanks for putting up your question here. One of the pre-requisites is you must have administrative rights on the computer to install SQL Server 2005 Service Packs. I personally would suggest first to upgrade it to SQL Server 2005 SP3 and then to SP4.
To upgrade it to SQL Server 2005 SP3, please refer http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=14752. Once this is successfully completed, restarft the system. Then you are good to upgrade again to SP4, refer http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=7218 for this.
